🔥 CHEF SPOTLIGHT: CHEF Edward Figueroa 🔥

We’re excited to welcome Chef Edward Figueroa of One13 Social in Carlisle to the Central Pennsylvania SuperChef stage!

Originally from Philadelphia, Chef Ed brings both passion and precision to the kitchen. His culinary background includes serving as Executive Chef at the acclaimed Johnny Brenda’s, along with time at Koo Zee Doo, a renowned Portuguese restaurant where he developed a deep appreciation for traditional flavors and heritage cooking techniques.

Today, as Sous Chef at One13 Social, Ed brings together his Latin roots, diverse culinary influences, and love of bold, soulful food. He plays an important role in creating dishes that honor tradition while still pushing boundaries through scratch cooking, sustainability, and local sourcing.

One13 Social, part of Rogue Duck Hospitality , has built its reputation around thoughtful cuisine, hyper-local ingredients, and creating memorable dining experiences with heart. From whole-animal butchery to globally inspired flavors, their team is passionate about supporting local farms and showcasing the best of the region.

The Dental Implant Center of PA is 100% owned by local doctors who also spend time caring for their patients.

That means decisions are centered around patient care and long-term relationships rather than outside shareholders.

Those local roots stretch back 50 years through the Verber Dental Group, and relationships continue to be at the heart of what they do — with patients, families, team members, and community partners.

What is SuperChef?

SuperChef started with something very simple — my love of food and my love of discovering different restaurants.

I grew up in the restaurant world. My parents owned a restaurant, so food, hospitality, and bringing people together have always been part of my life. You could say it’s in my blood.

When I created SuperChef, I wanted to give people the opportunity to experience a variety of incredible local restaurants all in one place to try something new, meet the chefs behind the food, and discover restaurants they may not have experienced before.

But I also wanted the evening to mean something more. From the beginning, SuperChef was created as a way to celebrate and support our local culinary community while also giving back to a nonprofit organization.

What started as an idea and a dream has grown far beyond what I could have imagined.

I will always be grateful to the chefs, restaurants, sponsors, partners, and guests who believed in that dream and helped bring it to life.

And now, 15 years later, SuperChef has grown into one of Central Pennsylvania’s premier culinary competitions.

Fifteen years of incredible food.
Fifteen years of talented chefs.
Fifteen years of community, competition, and giving back.

And we’re just getting started.
