Here's a recent project completed for Holiday Cheer! This custom blend of beans is sourced from women-operated farms in Guatemala and the Congo. Kim, the owner, tapped me to come up with a design for this short-run offering, and we thought up a 60's cartoon-style carolers motif paired with a snowflake pattern built using Flag & Wire's branding elements.

Flag & Wire's Holiday Cheer is available to purchase in-store or order online through the first week of January, but I say you oughta get some now for yourself and a few extra for gifting!

Earlier this year, I was tasked with creating an updated design for to commemorate its 10th year and relocation back to Lower City Park.

The committee wanted the new artwork to give a sense of place, particularly that of Mcminnville, while utilizing elements from Brian Ripp's original flyer art.

My approach was to evoke Mac's storybook charm by way of bright and detailed illustrations of the buildings, homes, businesses, and the iconic and unique elements that adorn our town and lend to its endearing character.

If you made your way down this year, you caught some truly great bands from near and far, danced your tail feathers off, dodged a few lightning strikes, and maybe joined in on the impromptu singalong that took place under the park shelter whilst seeking refuge from said lightning strikes...but you're also definitely excited to be part of the fun again next year!

Here's a fun one, made for the first live music event ever at ! (I could be wrong...) ~ At any rate, this one took place the day after a certain local music festival, encouraging weary folks to wash away their post-rager blues with expertly crafted lagers and some delightful tunes.

This event may also have inadvertently heralded the establishment of a brand new production company . Keep your eyes open for more good stuff coming from them real soon!

This gig was held on what would turn out to be the rainiest day of June (probably not accurate, but sure felt like it). Our gear might have been slightly dampened, but not our spirits!

It was a joy working with and in creating the logo for their recently launched business, Blackbird Vineyard Services.

This design incorporates the Zen art element 'Ensō', a simple circular brush stroke form that represents enlightenment and the embrace of the universe in its perfection. The Blackbird holds a variety of meanings throughout several cultural traditions, including intuition, transformation, adaptation, and wisdom (Native American); a divine messenger (Celtic); good luck and a guide between spiritual realms (Japan); and rebirth and renewal (Ancient Egypt).

Sam, Jenn, and I worked on determining a precise pose and appearance for the subject that conveyed responsiveness, knowledge, and attentiveness, placed within the environment of a thriving, vigorous vineyard.

Over the past few years, my father had conceived a short story that continued the paths of three existing narratives combined into one. His intention was to submit this manuscript as part of an application to a writing program at Stanford. Last year, his illness compelled him to complete the story, but ultimately he did not see it through to its intended goal. In the run-up to his memorial last month, myself, my brother Creed, and my Mom pulled together an effort to self-publish a short run of his story, "Dancing With Shadows". We shared copies with the attendees, and a passage was read at the service.

I'm immensely proud of this work; my father's writing, my cover artwork and layout, and our effort to bring fruition to this unique and gorgeous narrative.

I have copies available, dm me if interested in obtaining one. Stay tuned for further efforts in the works...
