When we opened our venue in 2016, I had no idea that one of the greatest blessings to come from it would be the friendships we would make along the way. ❤️
That year, Keisha reached out to me about her wedding planning services. What started as a business connection quickly turned into a friendship, and over the past 10 years, she has become such a special part of my life. Through the years, I’ve also had the privilege of getting to know and love her family, too.
If you know Keisha, you know the strength, kindness, faith, and joy she carries with her. I have watched her face things no one should ever have to face, yet she continues to work, laugh, love her family, show up for the people around her, and LIVE.

📣💕Introducing Keisha Norwood as a 2026 Runway for a Cure Honoree💕
We are honored to introduce a 2026 Runway for a Cure honoree—a woman whose resilience, hope, and determination inspire everyone around her.
Her journey began in 2016 with a Stage 0 breast cancer diagnosis, followed by a lumpectomy and 36 radiation treatments. Nearly seven years later, she faced the diagnosis once again at Stage 2. She underwent a double mastectomy in January 2023, learning during surgery that the cancer had spread to her lymph nodes. To receive 30 additional rounds of radiation, she spent six weeks in Memphis at the Hope Lodge—a place that became a sanctuary of community, lifelong friendships, and support.
In August 2024, scans revealed the disease had progressed to Stage 4 metastatic breast cancer of the liver. Guided by an elite team at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston alongside her dedicated physician, Dr. Tauer, closer to home, she has continued to access cutting-edge genetic testing and innovative clinical trials—including a recent procedure placing radiation pellets directly into her liver tumors.
Supported every step of the way by her husband, John, and a tight-knit circle of family and friends, she continues to live life to the fullest. Cancer has taught her that life is measured not by years, but by how we choose to live them—finding strength in ordinary moments, celebrating good days, and embracing hope alongside uncertainty.
Today, she continues her treatment with strength and optimism—working, laughing, and living actively. We are thrilled to celebrate her courage as our 2026 Runway for a Cure Honoree as she continues to inspire others and write her next chapter!
