As December comes to a close, we want to extend a heartfelt thank‑you to everyone who supported the Catawba Riverkeeper and The River Room throughout this magical month. Your visits, your generosity, and your enthusiasm helped make the season brighter—not just for us, but for the river and community we’re proud to serve.

From cozy nights to festive celebrations in the heart of Christmas Town USA, we’re grateful for every moment shared with you. Here’s to a strong year ahead, continued stewardship of our beautiful river, and many more memories together.

The River Room will be closed for a private event today. However, we will still be serving refreshing beverages, and Goldfingers and Cream Ice Concepts will be on-site waiting to offer up a delicious meal or dessert for those visiting ChristmasTown USA. Enjoy a great meal, a tasty treat, then stop by our beverage tent for a cold beer or cider (weather permitting). Say hi to Rob and Michael when you get there.

Tonight, we have the pleasure of hosting not one, but two food trucks to satisfy your hunger! and will be at the River Room from 5 PM to 9 PM, ensuring you and your loved ones have full bellies before heading out to see the lights.

You can place your order and bring your meals into our cozy taproom, where you can enjoy a seasonal cocktail, a local craft beer, or a glass of wine. We also offer non-alcoholic options. After your meal, take a stroll on the walking tour to see the twinkling lights of McAdenville.

Don’t forget to keep your hands warm by grabbing a hot cocoa or coffee from our patio vendor, !

We are so excited! Our annual Christmas Market is tomorrow! Make sure to plan your day around this fun event. More than 30 artisans will be on site to make your holiday shopping easy and convenient. Ward will be spending her birthday with us singing some of her favorite holiday tunes and the Big Guy himself...yes, the very one...Santa Claus will be here ready to take photos with your kids. Do some shopping, grab some lunch from , come get a cocktail or beer from Kala and stick around to see the holiday lights. We even have an opportunity for you to get dinner and dessert when Grub LLC and @ start serving at 5pm. Sounds like the perfect day!

⛄🍔 Join us at the River Room tonight for some tasty treats, including hamburgers, chicken tenders, fried fish and some deliciously crafted funnel cakes. Goldfingers Food Truck will be at the River Room from 5-9. Lea and Alex will be serving you delicious hot cider, cold beer or a seasonal cocktail. We can't wait to see you!

✨🎄 The will be serving up Mediterranean magic at The River Room — right in the heart of Christmastown USA! Join us tonight for a cozy cocktail or craft beer and a warm meal from one of our favorite food trucks. The River Room will be open from 4-9 with Alison and Michael behind the bar.

Join us at the River Room to warm up with a delicious cocktail and experience a taste of Cuba! Tonight, will be in McAdenville, serving up mouthwatering empanadas and Cuban sandwiches. Alison and Rob will be at the River Room to welcome you and help get you into the holiday spirit.

Before you head out to tour the lights, don't forget to stop by for a to-go coffee, latte, or hot chocolate.

Join us THIS Saturday, December 13th, from 1:00–5:00 PM for the Catawba Riverkeeper Christmas Market in Christmas Town U.S.A.! The market will be held in the lawn outside the Dynamo 31 building at 102 Main Street, McAdenville, NC.

Santa will be visiting from 1:00–3:30 PM (bring your own camera to snap some pictures), plus we’ll have a Kids' Craft Table, live music from Noell Ward, food from Mexican Medusa, and over local 30 artisan vendors to shop from.

Pro tip: Park at the Dynamo 31 building to avoid traffic and enjoy extra Christmas lights along the walk!

The weather is getting better, and those twinkling lights are just around the corner! We’d love for you to come to the River Room tonight before you go out to enjoy the lights. Torres Tacqueria will be dishing out some amazing Mexican food, and our friends Alison and Myriah will be inside serving up delicious cocktails, beer, and hot cider. We can’t wait to see your smiling faces tonight!
