Gandy Dancer Bluegrass Festival Welcome to the Gandy Dancer Festival's page! The festival is a presentation of the Mazomanie Charitable Alliance, PO Box 284, Mazomanie, WI 53560.

The Gandy Dancer Festival is a free annual event featuring bluegrass, folk, and other roots music plus children's activities designed to keep the whole family entertained. The origin of the term "Gandy Dancer" is unknown but refers to the track crews who put down and maintained America's vast rail network.

The lineup is here!

We’re excited to announce the 2026 Gandy Dancer Bluegrass Festival lineup, coming to downtown Mazomanie on Saturday, August 15th.

Join us for a full day of bluegrass music, family-friendly fun, and small-town charm in the heart of Mazo.

Main Stage Lineup
12:00 PM – The MilBillies
2:00 PM – Soggy Prairie
4:00 PM – Art Stevenson & High Water
6:00 PM – CHICKEN WIRE EMPIRE

Main stage tickets are just $15 in advance, and the rest of the festival is 100% free. Bring the family for mini-train rides, museum exhibits, food, drinks, bluegrass jamming, and a day full of community fun.

The festival grounds are located in downtown Mazomanie, with music on the Westland Promenade and at the Performing Arts Pavilion.

The Gandy Dancer Bluegrass Festival celebrates the best of small-town America: great music, a picturesque setting, local history, and a whole lot of heart.

A huge thank you to everyone who came out for the 2025 Gandy Dancer Bluegrass Festival - especially those who braved the rain, the train, and Wisconsin weather! 🌧️🚂☀️

Our amazing artists brought the joy - from toe-tapping stage sets to a heartfelt songwriting master class and jam session. 💙 To our many volunteers, vendors, food folks, and crafters: you made this year special and we’re so grateful!

Thanks to everyone in Mazo - residents, businesses, and services for allowing us to bring this to the community. Your flexibility and generosity mean so much.

This is what makes small-town Wisconsin - and especially Mazomanie - such a wonderful place to live, visit, and celebrate music together.
