Meet our Crop Scouting crew!
From left to right, we have our Crop Scout Interns Jacob Kramer, Natalie Witcomb, and Sadie Sauer.
This group has put on the miles this summer! From weeds, insects, and diseases; they truly have seen it all. Snow storms to 100 degree heat, this team weathers it all. We can not express our gratitude enough for their insights from the field. Thank you for being our boots and wheels in the field.

🐛 NIGHT OF THE LIVING CUTWORMS! 🐛

Attention growers: There is a tiny horror movie playing out in our local fields right now, and the reviews are terrible.

While Halloween is still months away, some creepy, crawly monsters have decided to start their spooky season early. Cutworms are officially out of hibernation and actively feeding!

These little ghouls aren’t picky eaters, either. They are currently haunting a wide variety of broadleaf crops, including:

🌻 Sunflowers

🌱 Soybeans

🫛 Peas
..and just about any crop they can sink their mandibles into.

If you don’t want to wake up to a graveyard of clipped seedlings, it’s time to start scouting. Look for wilted plants, reduced stand, or the culprits themselves curled up in the soil near the base of damaged crops.

The good news? You don’t need a silver bullet or a wooden stake to stop them.

We have a full arsenal of highly effective insecticide options ready to go. We can help you ghost these pests before they cause any more economic damage to your yield.

They might be small, but they have a massive appetite. 🪲🍂

Flea beetles are officially waking up and looking for lunch in emerging canola fields. Because they love warm, dry weather, they can defoliate a seedling faster than you think.

Check your emerging canola for that classic "shot-hole" leaf damage. If you hit 25% defoliation and the beetles are still hungry, it's time to talk management options.
Don't rely solely on seed treatments if pressure is intense—get out there and scout regularly during these early weeks!

Congratulations to the 2026 Scheresky Ag Service $1000 scholarship winners! This year we have two outstanding scholarship recipients, Maycie Talbott, graduating from Max High School, and Hattie Heer, graduating from South Prairie High School. These ladies excelled academically, were leaders on their extracurricular teams, and gave back to their communities through service and entrepreneurship.
