🇷🇴 A Dream Grown Into a Community: The Journey to our Second Edition!

Dearest friends and community,

I am beyond excited to finally share some news that is very close to my heart: The Romanian American Cultural Festival is returning for its Second Edition on October 24th, 2026!

As many of you know, last year I started this journey with a simple, singular dream: to create one day a year where every Romanian American in the Carolinas—regardless of beliefs, religions, or backgrounds—could come together, united in one park as one family. 🤝

To be honest, it was a massive undertaking. Physically and financially, hosting that first event with only two people behind the scenes was a mountain to climb. We were so incredibly blessed by the vendors who displayed their booths and the volunteers who stepped up to help with music, setting up tables and chairs, and decorating to make the park feel like home.

And then, you showed up. 🥹 We were truly overwhelmed and surprised to see so many of you coming together to celebrate our heritage. Your encouragement and support meant the world to us.

I also want to send a huge, heartfelt thank you to my friend, Lori Oprea. After the festival, when she heard I was still working to cover the remaining expenses, she started a GoFundMe page. Because of the generosity of friends and strangers who donated, I am so proud to tell you that those funds have allowed us to take the next big step: We have officially started a Non-Profit Organization for the Romanian American Community in the Carolinas.

I’ve teamed up with two other dedicated members of our community to form a Board of Directors. This means we now have the foundation and the team to make this tradition sustainable and even better for years to come.
