Union County is proud to celebrate America 250 by planting our Heritage Tree during the City of Marysville's Arbor Day celebration🌳🇺🇸

Now rooted in Oakdale Cemetery, a nationally registered historic place and an arboretum with over 741 trees, representing a living legacy of our community.

This planting honors our past while continuing to grow something meaningful for future generations.

America 250 Transportation Spotlight: Covered Bridges🌉

Long before modern highways, covered bridges were the backbone of travel across Ohio—blending craftsmanship, function, and a little bit of charm.

Long before modern highways, charming, covered bridges were the backbone of travel. Ohio once had over 3,000 covered bridges built since 1807, many constructed by skilled house and barn builders using local timber. Today, only around 150 remain in Ohio, and Union County is home to seven of them, ranking 7th in the state.

On the Covered Bridge Trail, you’ll experience a blend of past and present:

Our love of the open road runs deep in Union County, and it always has!

Step back in time and visit the first Ford dealership in Ohio, which first opened its doors in 1913 and has been part of our community's story ever since. On display in the lobby of Coughlin GM of Marysville, you'll find a breathtaking 1923 Model T Ford. A rolling piece of American history that reminds us just how far we've come.
