Thank you to everyone who volunteered, sponsored, and attended the 2nd Annual Cancer Survivors Day. This event is a free community event for anyone whose life has been affected by cancer. We come together to celebrate life and all its glory. Yesterday's event was full of family fun: games, toys, food & shaved ice, and fantastic live music. Thank you to all who came out and enjoyed the day with us. Mark your calendars now for June 3, 2023!

This event was coupled with the 4th Annual Martinsville Shaves for the Brave event. We shaved 21 heads and raised $3,518 for the St. Baldrick's Foundation. With that total, our local event has raised a total of $17,711 for childhood cancer research since 2019!

These folks care about you and the community. Please find a way to help us in thanking our event sponsors:

This event is important to us all here in Morgan County and beyond. Be there for the fun, the laughter, and to celebrate life!

Are there any beauticians or barbers in here? We need 1 more volunteer to shave heads next Saturday.

I am looking for a few people to help during the event on June 4th. I need people to man the carnival games and also face painting. Please let me know if you’re interested. ❤️ Bethaney 3174080455

Thank you for following this page. I haven’t been able to post much in here this spring because I had difficulty getting back into the page as an admin. After this year’s event, I may merge this page and the Martinsville Shaves for the Brave page since we are now holding both events on the same day.

Also, if anyone is interested in being part of the event committee for 2023, let me know.

Thank you to everyone who came out to the Cancer Survivors Day event on Sunday, June 6th. The weather teased us all day with clouds, sprinkles of rain, and bright sunshine. However, we marched onward regardless. Kids and families enjoyed playing yard games like corn hole and yard jenga together. There were so many cute carnival games for kiddos to win fun prizes as well as the bounce house that even some “kids at heart” had to try out. Our honor board was filled with memories, encouraging letters, and thank-you’s that made your heart melt and others that made it ache. Hoosier Que and Kona Ice served lunch and free snow cones. Mayor Costin spoke to the crowd proclaiming June 6th, 2021 Cancer Survivors Day in Martinsville, IN!

This wonderful event would never have been successful without the many wonderful volunteers and sponsors. ❤️

Thank you to all of the friends and family that volunteered their time helping to set up, tear down, and run carnival games, etc.

Thank you to our sponsors: The City Of Martinsville, John R. Wooden Middle School, Fairway Independent Mortgage Corp- Mooresville, ’s Bookkeeping & Tax Service, New Start Home Realty, Wes Knox & Sons Construction, Porch Time LLC, H&R Block, Collier for Commissioner, Artesian Group LLC, DeLyn Jewelry, MP Clossey Excavating, and Spirit of Life Church

Thank you to Peace Restored and -Martinsville PCE Study for setting up booths to speak with guests about the important work you are doing in our communities.

We are all in this together. A cancer diagnosis instills fear and many times feelings of isolation. Reach out to a cancer survivor today and make sure they know that they do not have to fight alone. If you are a caregiver, it is okay to ask for help. ❤️

Understandably, it may be hard at times to find positivity, but live with purpose. Live with a grateful heart…grateful for each day and for the people in our lives.

I am looking forward to next year’s event and hope you will join us. If you are interested in being a volunteer or sponsor, please email [email protected]
