After much thought, consideration and heartbreak I have made the decision to postpone our Mad Hatter Tea party and to cancel our Easter Grand Buffet for this year. This decision was not made lightly and I am not ok with having to do it.

If you had reservations you should have already been contacted and your refund has been issued. I sincerely apologize for this but it is out of my control.

I learned on Monday (from the construction company, not the town) that all the asphalt is being pulled up on Main St and Main St will be closed. I waited until today to see if this was indeed the truth and unfortunately it is. I muddled through the sidewalk construction during Christmas and tried to keep a positive attitude but I don’t think that is possible with this phase of the project. It’s just too much for everyone to navigate trying to get people and products into and out of the space safely.

It is unfortunate that the town of Marshville, the town I grew up in and I made the decision to run my businesses in would continually make decisions that come at a detriment to the businesses in town. I’ve done my best to stay positive. I’ve been to town council meetings and made polite requests that they adopt a policy to notify business and land owners prior to any projects such as these. I’ve politely requested projected timelines for this specific project both on the record via public comments at town council meetings, as well as by email and I have yet to receive that information. So this is where we are……I apologize profusely for anyone’s Easter’s plans that have now had to be changed. This is not the way I have conducted business over the last 40 years (in this same town) and it is not the way I wish to conduct business but when your back is against a wall and the towns decisions continually cost the business owners money out of pocket I believe my clients deserve to know the truth.
