Are you ready to make Christmas gifts this season?

Saturday is your chance to make a gift you know family will use.

Katie Langenberg will teach a soap making class at Elm Farm.

You’ll go home with a soap mold, goggles and gloves, recipes, a cured bar, and the fresh bar you cut in class (cure at home 30 days). Empowered with these items, class experience, and a resource list, you’ll have plenty of time to get hooked and make a few batches in time to give as Christmas gifts.

Katie has made soap since the age of 6, and making and packaging batches for her mom’s soap business for years as an adult, and enjoying the craft for own family.

Muffins + drinks provided, just bring yourself and an apron!

We would like to formally invite you over to pull w**ds.

We mean that as a good time.

There is something deeply satisfying about learning how to clear a bed properly—knowing what you’re looking at, getting the whole w**d instead of snapping off the top, working your way down a row, and looking back at actual visible progress.

So bring clothes that can get dirty.

Anna will show us how she w**ds the flower farm, what she looks for before she pulls something, which w**ds require a different approach, and how to leave the soil and the plants you want in better shape than you found them.

No centerpiece to perfect.

No craft to finish.

Just coffee, dirt, garden knowledge, and a farm skill you can use at home the very next morning.

Come learn how to w**d without making more w**ds.

Tonight: Thursday, Oct. 8, 6:30-8:30pm.

“Is this a w**d?”

Honestly, that might be one of the most common garden questions there is.

Because when everything is six inches tall and green, it can be surprisingly hard to tell what you planted, what volunteered, and what is quietly preparing to take over the entire bed.

So we’re making a Thursday evening out of it.

Anna will walk through the flower beds at Elm and show you how she identifies the plants she wants to keep—and the ones she doesn’t.

We’ll look at leaf shape, growth habit, where the plant is emerging, roots, seed heads, and some of the little clues that make identification easier the more often you see them.

Then we’ll actually w**d.

Not because we need to invent an activity.

Because the farm needs w**ding anyway.

That’s kind of the whole point of Thursdays at Elm: come learn the real skills inside the real work of keeping a farm growing.

Thursday, Oct. 8
6:30-8:30pm.
$35, registration: elmfarm.co/thursdays
