We might not post often, but when we do, it is for a massive safety upgrade. After 40 long years of service, our old stage curtains have finally taken their final bow. To be fair, with all the rips, tears, and general exhaustion, they were looking less like professional theater drapes and more like a haunted house attraction. We have fully replaced them with brand new curtains, bringing the auditorium up to modern safety standards. The stage is secure, the aesthetic is vastly improved, and we are officially ready for the new season.

Please excuse our recent radio silence. We would love to say we were just building suspense, but honestly, we have been a little distracted trying to hold our old stage curtains together with sheer willpower and a lot of gaffer tape.

We are thrilled to finally announce that the auditorium has received a major upgrade: brand new curtains! They are pristine, professional, and completely opaque. This means our technical crew can once again run around backstage in total secrecy during events.

Thank you to the Marshalltown community for your ongoing support. We promise to be much better about keeping you updated moving forward. Unless, of course, the script calls for us to keep you in the dark. We cannot wait to reveal the new look at our next event.

The elementary school concert series is coming to an end 😭. But don’t fear we have 2 more performances left! Today is Rogers elementary at 1:30 and to finish off the series is Franklin tomorrow at 1:30pm. Don’t miss out on watching these kids sing their hearts out and show us how it’s done!

So incredibly proud of Hoglan! They did an absolutely amazing job at their elementary school concert yesterday. All that hard work and practice definitely paid off, and it was so wonderful to watch them shine on stage!
But the music isn't over yet... now it’s Anson’s turn! We are so excited to cheer you on. Let's go, Anson!

Don’t forget to catch their performance at 1pm today here at the Marshalltown Performing Arts Center!

The stage is set! Hoglan Elementary School students are currently rehearsing at the Marshalltown Performing Arts Center, putting the final touches on their big performance.
They have been working incredibly hard, and the music is sounding wonderful. Make sure to join us today at 1:00 PM for the official concert to see all their dedication pay off. We can't wait to see our families and community come out to support our talented students!

Hello World!

You already know about the fantastic performances happening this week and next week (if you missed that post, go scroll back and check them out!). But we wanted to give you a heads-up on how we are officially wrapping up the month so you can plan ahead.

Since we do not have a concession stand to distract you with popcorn and candy, you will just have to focus 100 percent of your attention on the incredible talent hitting our stage.

Here is what is coming up at the Marshalltown Performing Arts Center to close out the rest of April

Consider this your official early warning to mark your calendars. We will see you there, assuming we do not accidentally fast-forward to June by tomorrow.

Pardon our dust—both online and off!

If you’ve noticed we’ve been a little quiet on your newsfeed lately, it’s for a very good reason! Our team has been hard at work behind the scenes fixing, cleaning, and maintaining the auditorium. We've been putting in the hours to make sure our space is looking and sounding its absolute best for you.

Why the sudden rush? Because our busy season is officially here!

We are so incredibly excited to announce that we are kicking things off with our upcoming elementary school concerts. There is nothing quite like the energy of these young performers filling the auditorium, and we can't wait to welcome our local students, parents, and community members back through our doors.

Included is also a 2 week preview of our upcoming events!
