For reasons both personal and professional, we have made the decision to cancel Armourcon 2025.
Armourcon is a convention organized and run by a very small group of people. This year, personal life events made setting up for the convention slower than we wanted to. In addition, bad luck has meant some organizers had to step away from their obligations; if not for the behind-the-scenes difficulties we would have had time to account for these understandable changes. Instead, we have been left in a situation where we must decide on running a sub-par convention, or cancelling it outright in order to assess for the future. We have chosen the latter.
The reason why we have made this choice is that we don’t want to be down for the count, and this is an opportunity to come back in the future bigger and better. We are looking over all aspects of the convention from top to bottom on what changes can be made for a superior experience. We don’t want to make promises we might have to go back on, so instead, we ask for your patience and enthusiasm for the convention’s revival.
In the meantime, we want to remind you that Armourcon is part of a legacy of raising money for dogs in need. In the wake of the cancellation, Danny and Ami will be holding a fundraising event in support of Handsome Dan’s at The Armoury in Fairhaven, MA on October 18th. We hope to see you there, and if not, ask you to make a donation to Handsome Dan’s rescue.
