2v2 2020 Update:
Friends - I’m hopeful to provide an update on behalf of the Corinthian Sailing Committee on 2v2 2020.
Earlier this week, our Executive Committee approved our current plan for the 2v2 and our intent is to run the event this year. The event will look different than it has in the past with the goal of first providing a safe experience for our sailors, volunteers, staff and North Shore community and second an outstanding day of racing on the water.
The current plan includes the following:
- The 2020 event will be held on Saturday September 19, 2020. This years event will only be one day.
- The field will be limited to 5 teams. We currently have 5 entries - you know who you are - and a team on the wait list if a team chooses to not attend.
- 2020 will see us sail sonars 3 up and without kites.
- The Competitors meetings will take place via zoom the night before the event. Awards will also take place virtually.
- Our focus is on providing outstanding racing. We hope competitors understand that we cannot provide meals or an awesome party as we have in years past and time spent onshore at the club will be very limited.
- There will be no boat rotations.
- We will be adjusting the entry fee to a very very reduced rate.
- Competitors will need to comply with all regulations including those set by the State on entering Massachusetts and those of the Marblehead Harbormaster.
An updated NOR is in progress and we will share as soon as it is complete and through the review process.
While there are many things I will miss including seeing you all in person, dancing on the porch and even that Sunday morning headache, I am super excited about what we can do.
So...look for an updated NOR soon. If you have registered and no longer want to attend, please let us know...I get it that this is different this year and no hard feelings.
Lastly, please know that this is our current thinking. The world is quite fluid and we commit to providing updates if circumstances change that will cause our thinking to change.
Pics for stoke.
