Delighted Tobehere knows how to empower a room!! This moment from drag brunch had so many of us in tears.

Why? Because we know the feeling all too well.

That feeling of saying or doing something harmless that just feels right. Putting on a dress, wearing a binder, holding someone’s hand, or even laughing with a friend.. all for someone to tell you “you can’t do that, it’s wrong”

Pride to us is not about being boastful or ego. It’s about freedom of expression. It’s about acknowledging, celebrating, and respecting oppressed communities in a safe place.

Pride is not about being better than any one person or group. It’s not about exclusion. As Delighted puts so beautifully, “It’s an act of resistance against whatever everybody says is normal.”

Just because a person does not fit your standards, your belief of what “normal” is, does not mean that they are less than.

We believe that if we can have more authentic, compassionate conversations with those who see the world differently, it opens our eyes to more beauty in the world. At the end of the day, we’re not so different from each other.
