Our Story

The Manson Chamber of Commerce announces the Fifth Annual “Monsters in Manson Rat Rod Show” in downtown Manson, WA. May 16, 2020. The registration page can be found at: TBD. By definition, Rat Rods are a style of hot rod or custom car that imitates early hot rods from the 1940- 1960’s. Most are not finished and are chopped, dropped, built up, and built from junkyard scraps to create amazing and fun cars and trucks. Most of all, Rat Rods are a lot of fun. “We’re excited to invite clubs from all over the northwest to come to the sun and kick off the Rat Rod Show Season in Manson on the beautiful shores of Lake Chelan!” says committee chairman, Jeff Conwell. “In the month of May it’s virtually summer here in Manson and we’ve got plenty of hotel space before the summer season. So the timing is absolutely perfect for both the Rat Rodders and Manson. Not to mention a really cool t-shirt design” Conwell went on to say. The event is packed with fun kicking off with early registration on Friday May 15th at TBD in downtown Manson. Saturday’s show in downtown Manson opens at 8:30AM, with judging beginning at 10:00AM. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three entries. The event is FREE to the public and the cost to enter a vehicle is only twenty-five dollars (twenty for those who pre-register) with a portion of the proceeds from the event benefiting the Manson Chamber of Commerce Rat Rod Scholarship, to be awarded to a student planning on entering a trade or college program in the auto repair or automobile industry.
