Mid-Ohio Educational Service Center Serving districts and students in Ohio In instances where schools need alternative education options, we are an invaluable resource.

Mid-Ohio Educational Service Center currently provides specialized academic and support services to 16 school districts in Crawford, Morrow and Richland Counties. We provide access to professionals and services that would be unaffordable to many school districts, but are made accessible because our professionals and services are shared among districts. Our customers receive services from curriculu

m, gifted and special education consultants, speech pathologists, psychologists, special education teachers, occupational therapists and physical therapists. Our programs include substance abuse treatment, home school assistance, behavioral disorder treatment, preschool, and expulsion/suspension alternatives. We specialize in meeting the needs of today’s educational system by providing our clients with guidance and resources on areas such as teacher certification, licensure, home schooling, parent-mentoring, and testing, assessment of preschool children with special needs. Mid-Ohio ESC is located in the Mid-Ohio Conference Center and has access to the resources of the conference center for large training venues.

Bus drivers play a critical role in the safe transportation of students to and from home and school. Because of this, the State of Ohio must meet mandates. Ohio school bus drivers must have at least four hours of annual in-service training. To fulfill this requirement, all local area bus drivers are invited to the Mid-Ohio Educational Service Center on August 6, 2025, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. to learn about relevant topics for school transportation.

Mid-Ohio Educational Service Center staff have been working hard planning the student events calendar for the 2026-2027 school year with the Academic Challenge, Artapolooza art festival and local and area spelling bees all returning. Amber Clay-Mowry, Director of Leadership & Learning, said, "Mid-Ohio is proud to host opportunities that enrich students’ learning experiences through events like the Spelling Bee, Academic Challenge and Artapolooza. These events provide platforms for students to showcase their unique talents and develop essential skills that enhance their learning journey.”
