Kwik Trip Holiday Basketball Tournament

High school basketball tournament that is always held just after Christmas at Bethany Lutheran College.

In 2026 the dates of the tourney will be Saturday, December 26, Monday, December 28, and Tuesday, December 29.

Please save the following dates in your schedule for the 2026 Kwik Trip Tournament:
- Saturday, December 26
- Monday, December 28
- Tuesday, December 29

Junior Varsity games at 1pm, 1:30pm, 3pm, and 3:30pm and Varsity games at 6pm, 6:30pm, 8pm, and 8:30pm those days
(*Brackets will be released one month prior to the tourney.)

All games will be held on the campus of Bethany Lutheran College in the North Gym or Younge Gym of the Sports & Fitness Center!

All teams are returning! Fairmont Cardinals, Janesville Waldorf Pemberton Bulldogs, Lake Crystal Wellcome Memorial Knights, Maple River Eagles, Minnesota Valley Lutheran Chargers, Mankato Loyola Crusaders, New Ulm Eagles, and the St. Clair Cyclones.

🏆 The Westphal Trophy 🏀

One of the great traditions of the Kwik Trip Holiday High School Basketball Tournament is the presentation of the Westphal Trophy — a traveling trophy awarded each year to the Varsity Tournament Champion at the ceremony following championship game.

The trophy is named in honor of Art Westphal, whose lasting impact on Bethany and the tournament cannot be overstated. Art faithfully served as a longtime tournament co-founder and director, Bethany coach, Athletic Director, and college advancement leader at Bethany Lutheran College. His leadership, dedication, and passion for student-athletes helped shape this tournament into the special tradition it is today.

Each year, the Varsity champion earns the honor of taking the Westphal Trophy back to their school, where it is proudly displayed for the entire year — a reminder of teamwork, excellence, and championship achievement.

👀 Who will earn the right to take home the Westphal Trophy this year? JWP, New Ulm, Maple River, or Minnesota Valley Lutheran?
