🎶 Let the Pipes Sing 🎶

Join us for a special organ demonstration at Good Counsel Chapel and experience the remarkable sound of one of the most extraordinary historic organs in the region.

The historic 1877 Johnson & Son pipe organ at Good Counsel Chapel was built in Boston, rescued from demolition in 1975, and carried 1,400 miles to Mankato, where the School Sisters of Notre Dame, community volunteers lovingly cleaned, restored, and reassembled it piece by piece. In the 1990s, the organ underwent additional restoration work by Dobson Pipe Organ Builders, helping preserve its voice for future generations.

Today, with 45 stops and nearly 3,000 pipes, it remains one of the largest surviving organs ever built by Johnson & Son. Come hear the history, craftsmanship, and music of this incredible instrument for yourself.
