On this day, August 31, 1893, Sarah Wareham acquired Moore's Opera House. She put her son Harry in charge of the theater, and the rest is history!

Sarah was a skilled entrepreneur who ran her own millinery store for 30+ years and was a beloved community member. The more we learned about her, the more we were surprised that we had never heard her name associated with the Wareham family legacy.

Our basement venue will be named "Sarah's" to honor her story and keep her memory alive. We can't wait to share a sneak peek as we get closer to opening!

Another major milestone is in the books!

Before this steel beam was lifted into place, we invited some of Wareham Hall’s most dedicated supporters to add their signatures. It’s a permanent symbol of our community’s generosity and belief that a historic theater of this magnitude belongs in Manhattan.

Moments like these always bring us to tears because it’s beyond fulfilling to play a role in helping our beloved theater reclaim its place as “The Showplace of Manhattan” once again.
