Join us on June 8th, 2024, for SUN, MOUNTAIN BIKING, BEER, & FOOD at the 10th Annual Otter Creek MTB Race! Our story stems back to over a decade ago. A group of local Nodak mountain bikers came together to create the first endurance MTB race in North Dakota- The Race to Sunset. After more than a half-decade and two venues of successful events, we felt it was time to evolve our race as well. With a brand new mountain bike venue and fresh blood coming into the team the Otter Creek Mountain Bike race was born. The race is held every year at Harmon Lake north of Mandan and today we strive to continue to bring the hype and provide a world-class race experience. Our venue now offers 20 miles of singletrack, a bit of everything with camping opportunities right on-site!

Well, that's a wrap on the 2026 Otter Creek Trail Festival.

To every runner, rider, volunteer, sponsor, food truck, campground host, trail crew, spectator, and supporter—we thank you.

This weekend started months ago with planning meetings, permit applications, sponsorship conversations, course plotting, and countless behind-the-scenes details. It came to life because so many people were willing to give their time, energy, and talents to create something special.

To our participants: thank you for choosing to spend your weekend with us, for tackling the trails, cheering each other on, and bringing the energy that makes this event what it is.

To our staff and volunteers: you are the heart of this event. From registration and aid stations to parking, bacon cooking, course marshaling, setup, teardown, and everything in between—this event simply would not happen without you.

To our sponsors and partners: thank you for believing in what we're building and helping us create an experience that goes far beyond a race.

And to the trail crew—special recognition is deserved. More than 150 hours of volunteer trail work went into preparing the Harmon Lake trail system for race weekend. Your efforts made every mile possible.
