18 Manchester Swine Club members kicked off their fair season yesterday with the much-anticipated pig "gotcha day" for the 2026 Manchester Community Fair! Each member randomly draws a number for a gilt and barrow pig (that’s one girl and one boy pig for our non-farm friends 🐷).

It may have been a chilly afternoon, but thanks to the helping hands of members, parents, siblings, and even grandparents, everything ran smoothly and quickly. It truly takes a team!

Now the real work begins... over the next four months, these pigs will be fed, washed, and trained as members prepare them for the show ring. All that dedication will pay off when it’s time to compete to be the big winner of the pig show. (Psssttt... Pig show is Tuesday, August 18).

A big thank you to everyone who helped make yesterday a success!
