An evening of music, culture, and connection is coming to Orlando. 🌿

On Thursday, November 19, we have the honor of welcoming members of the Yawanawá Tribe from the Brazilian Amazon for a special live concert at Pachamama Sanctuary.

Join us for an evening of traditional music, cultural connection, and community as we come together to celebrate and support the Yawanawá people.

Suggested donations of $40 or more will go toward supporting the tribe and helping provide basic amenities and essential resources for their community.

📍 Orlando, Florida
📅 Thursday, November 19

This is a standalone concert, open to those who wish to join us for this special evening.
We would love to see you there.

Interested in spending more time with the tribe?

We are also hosting a separate three-day retreat in Orlando, November 20–22, with only a few spaces remaining.

The concert and retreat are two different events, and you are welcome to attend either independently.

Message us if you'd like more information about the retreat!

A Quick Update for Our Pachamama Community 🙏

The Town of Casco has canceled this evening’s meeting, so there is no need for anyone to come to the Sanctuary or attend tonight.

We see this as a hopeful sign. We’ll continue to keep everyone informed as we learn more and will share an update right away if a new date is set.

To everyone who was prepared to show up and stand with us, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Your support, encouragement, and willingness to be there for this community mean more than we can say.

We are grateful for each and every one of you as we move forward together.

Blessings,

Derek

I hold space for people on some of the hardest nights of their lives. For a long time, I had nowhere to put my own.

For years I looked fine from the outside. I had a career, a family, and a life that seemed to be working. Inside, I was carrying anxiety, depression, and addiction, and almost no one knew. I told myself that the person others lean on does not get to fall apart.

That belief kept me alone far longer than I needed to be.

Healing did not begin with a breakthrough. It began the day I stopped pretending and let someone help me. It continued through honest conversations, trusted friends, prayer, and learning to receive the same care I give so easily to others.

Today is World Mental Health Day, and I want to say what I wish someone had told me sooner:

You can be strong and still need support.
You can care for others and still deserve care.
Asking for help is not the end of your strength. It is often the beginning of it.

If you are struggling right now, please tell someone today. In the US, you can call or text 988 at any hour. Anywhere else, reach out to your local crisis line.

And if you are the one everyone leans on, I would love to hear from you in the comments: who holds space for you?

Blessings,
Derek

For many of you, Pachamama Sanctuary has been a place to slow down, to pray, and to find your footing again. Today we are asking for your help to keep that place open.

Pachamama Sanctuary is a small, independent church in Casco, Maine. People from all walks of life come here carrying grief, exhaustion, or a quiet sense of being lost, and they leave more grounded and more connected to themselves and to one another.

Right now we are working through a land use process with our town so that we can continue to serve our community. We want to be good neighbors, and we are working toward an agreement. That process carries real legal costs, and they have arrived at the hardest time of year for a small church.

Gifts go first to legal counsel, and anything beyond that will help keep our doors open through the winter.

If this place has meant something to you, we would be grateful for your support below, and just as grateful if you share this post with your friends.

Thank you for walking with us.

Blessings,
Pastor Derek and the Pachamama Sanctuary community
