From all of us at the Brandywine Conservancy, we thank everyone who came out to support the 95th Radnor Hunt Races this year! We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful and perfect day "Racing for Open Space" one last time as the sole operator and beneficiary of the Races. As we take a bittersweet bow from this event after more than four decades at the helm, we are also thrilled to share that the Radnor Hunt Foundation announced it will be carrying on the legacy of the Races moving forward, ensuring the event's continued success for what we hope will be many more decades to come.
“For the last 45 years, the Brandywine has been honored to play a leadership role in this storied event, which has benefited the Conservancy’s open space and clean water initiatives," said Virginia Logan, The Frolic Weymouth Executive Director & C.E.O. of the Brandywine Conservancy & Museum of Art. "With the centennial running of the Races approaching in a few years, now was the right time for the Brandywine to pass the baton on to a new operator to continue the tradition of the Radnor Hunt Races into the event’s next century. We remain proud of the lasting legacy of ‘Racing for Open Space’ that we will carry forward, and we are pleased to know this event will continue in the capable hands of the Radnor Hunt Foundation."
We remain deeply grateful for the leadership team and all members of the Radnor Hunt, the National Steeplechase Association, our committee members, sponsors, partners, race staff and officials, volunteers, thoroughbred owners and trainers, jockeys, and spectators like who have supported this event over the years and helped make this year's event such a success!
As we pass the reins over to the Radnor Hunt Foundation, the Brandywine has been working closely with their leadership team to help lay the groundwork for a smooth and successful transition of the Races moving forward.
