For the teams and fans that are traveling and need hotel arrangements, I have confirmed with Shooting Star Casino staff that they will give us the same tournament rate as the previous years, making it extremely affordable to bring your family/friends!! They have blocked off rooms from Friday - Sunday for officials, participants and fans. Follow the instructions below and let me know if you have any issues!

Tournament date has been set and the registration link is up y’all!!! This year we will be streaming games (working on it now) for family/friends to watch from the comfort of their home if they aren’t within driving distance. Hoping we can get at least 4 women’s teams and bring back that division this year!! Last year we had 20 men’s teams and hope to replicate that again. Hoodies for teams winning their divisions and long-sleeve t-shirts for 2nd place this year!! Rules can be found on the registration link or you can find the tournament on Sports Engine!! Please share and let’s make this one another great experience for all!!! Any questions, please send a text!!

We are providing discounted shirts or hoodies to teams (10 per team) if they choose to purchase prior to the deadline. $100 for 10 shirts or $200 for 10 hoodies and we can discuss specific colors for each team!!

There will be the Mother’s Day Powwow going on the same weekend at the casino and we encourage players and fans to take some time to go check it out, especially if you haven’t had the chance to see a powwow yet. Our beautiful Ojibwe culture will be on full display with dancers and singers giving their all!!

Shooting Star Casino will be our host hotel again and I’m currently working on getting a room block!!

Waiting on confirmation the Waubun HS Gymnasium will be our host site for the 3rd Annual Spring Fever tournament for April 25th - 26th. Once I get the okay I will have a flyer posted and shared and hope to duplicate the success we have had the first two years!! Commercial and Recreational divisions again with all the same rules being applied.

Today is the day!!! Brackets have been sent to team captains!! Sadly, we weren’t able to field enough women’s teams for this year but we will bounce back and aim for 6-8 teams next year!!

Something different with this tournament than a lot of others is the use of a 30 second shot clock for our Commercial division!! I’d be surprised if we see a lot of violations though because there are going to be a lot of scorers/shooters in the gym this weekend!!
Free entry to all community members to come watch, grab some food/snacks, and cheer on your local talent!! Come for a game, 2 games or all day, we would love to see you there!!

We will also be streaming the games live from this page so share and have your friends/family give a follow!!!

The Opichi Drum youth drum group will be opening our tournament at 9:40am on Saturday with a song and closing on Sunday after the Commercial Championship!!

Registration deadline is tomorrow at midnight folks!! For those that have been waiting or on the fence about. Brackets will be sent out Saturday afternoon with no additions being made. Rosters are set at the registration deadline as well.

I’ll reach out to the teams who played last year that haven’t signed up. We have 2 more days to share and get more teams in. Currently only one women’s team but I’m sure we have 2-3 interested.

Also, we will be doing Commercial and Recreation divisions for the men, check the registration page for guidelines regarding college players and put your team in the correct division.
