Wisconsin Fishing Expo

Wisconsin Fishing Expo The official page for the Wisconsin Fishing Expo. Join us, the last weekend in February, in Madison! 2027 dates: Friday, 2/26, Saturday 2/27, Sunday, 2/28.

Be aware: Dane County parking ($10/vehicle) & concessions are CASHLESS as of Nov. '24... The Wisconsin Fishing Expo was “spawned” from The Madison Fishing Expo, the largest consumer fishing show in the Midwest, which began over 35 years ago. Each year, 20,000 attendees pack the Alliant Energy Center Exposition Hall, in Madison, Wisconsin to enjoy this annual fishing tradition. The Expo is, itself,

an annual event that helps promote the sport of fishing to enthusiasts of all ages. Today, more than ever, it is important to understand that a fishing rod is a tool that will inspire wholesome family memories in a way that video games or smart phones can’t touch. And, while you will find hundreds of exhibits – including hard to find lures, leading brands in the industry, great deals on boats, and fishing trips of a lifetime- attendees will also have the chance to enjoy one-on-one time with members of the leading nonprofit fishing clubs from across the state, each one eager to help attendees improve their fishing skills for a lifetime. The Wisconsin Fishing Expo experience doesn’t just offer products and services, but an avenue to make fishing a lifetime hobby that will help families stick together. In fact, portions of the proceeds from the show even help fund projects that make fishing better right here in the State of Wisconsin.

Have you tried this trick on the grill before? Makes a terrific appetizer before the steaks go on, or as a stand-alone main course for Friday night fish...! ♨️🍋🎣 Courtesy of Allrecipes...

Grilled walleye is brushed with melted butter and flavored with dried seasonings, then wrapped in a foil packet and grilled to tender, flaky perfection.

Here's a great diagram on fishing line breakdown. When fishing for big walleye I like Mono to a Fluoro leader. When jigging in clear water I prefer Braid to a 4 foot Fluoro leader. What's your favorite setup??

The Hump Day update today comes from Expo seminar host Steve Heiting... congrats to Bill's Musky Club on all the years of conservation & education! 🍻🏆

50 YEARS AGO — The largest independent (non-Muskies Inc.) musky club is Bill's Musky Club of Wausau. Founded by restauranteur Bill Hoeft in 1964, the club today heavily promotes catch and release fishing, but times were much different in 1976 — 50 years ago — when this photo was taken after a club outing at the Chanticleer Inn on the Eagle River Chain.

According to information attached to the photo: "26 legal muskies were caught in the Eagle River Chain. The total catch amounted to 260 pounds, 10 ounces, and measured 72 feet, 11 -3/4 inches. The top three fishermen with their catches shown are — kneeling — Andy Anderson, Sun Prairie, WI, first place 24 pounds, 45-1/2-inches caught on Andy's Bait (homemade); Paul Austin, Clear Lake, Iowa, second place 20-1/4-pound, 41 inches caught on a sucker; and Steve Stroyny, Mosinee, WI, third place, 20 pounds, 43 inches, caught on a sucker.
