Dear folks, this post is from Esty Dinur, the Artistic Director of the Madison World Music Festival for its first 17 years, starting in 2004. I'm writing to let you know that I'll be retiring in a couple days. This page, which has been maintained by me, will have a new owner.

What an adventure it has been! We brought artists from all corners of the world, numerous genres, some upbeat and dancy, others contemplative, others yet totally innovative, unusual, brainy, fun...I am so grateful to have been afforded this opportunity and to have contributed to your happiness. I will miss booking the festival--though I have already booked next year's. I will miss seeing you dancing--and dancing with you, (though I'll probably still do that, once we can again!). This year we produced the first online festival and I'm quite certain the online component will continue into the future, allowing for many more people, all over the world, to enjoy the artists.

It has been a wonderful chapter in my life! Bye for now, and looking forward to seeing you eventually!

Thank you to everyone who participated and all who watched! We couldn't do it live in our usual venues but in return we were able to showcase our artists to people all over the world~. We appreciate you!

Photos from inside Shannon Hall later today!
