Phase 1 COMPLETE! 🎉

And we are thrilled! Today we finished up all the details to make the new ceremony space at Poplar Place look so stunning!

✅ New ceiling
✅ New lighting
✅ Fresh paint

It was quite the undertaking but we still can’t get over how beautiful this space is! It’s the perfect place to say “I do”!

Now we bring in decor, get to work on exterior updates, and get ready to welcome our happy couples! We’re still pushing for an October opening! I think we can do it! Stay tuned!

Let us pray.

This weekend our family came to visit us in Madison, and we finally got the chance to take them to Poplar Place and show them what we’ve been working on.

Before we left, I asked my dad to pray over it.

There have been a lot of prayers said inside Poplar Place over the years. For generations, people came through these doors to worship, to pray and to lean on their faith through whatever life brought their way. We know we’re only a small part of a much bigger history here, and that’s something we never want to lose sight of as we work to give this place a new purpose.

So together, we prayed for those who came before us and for the legacy they left behind. We prayed over the work happening here now and asked for God’s blessing on what Poplar Place is becoming.

And we prayed for the people we haven’t met yet.

For the couples who will walk through these doors on some of the biggest days of their lives. For the families who will sit together and watch someone they love say “I do.” For all the joy, nerves, happy tears and celebration that will one day happen here.

There was something special about standing there with our family, adding our own prayer to the many that have already been prayed in this place.

And we are excited for the many more still to come.

Joanie is a Love Betty Flower Girl! 🤍

And could she be any sweeter?!

We’ve been lucky enough to be a little part of such a special day. Mom found her wedding dress at Love Betty Bridal, Dad is getting suited at James Dell, and now it was Joanie’s turn to find her flower girl dress!

And I think it’s safe to say she found it.

She absolutely lit up when we put this one on her and had ZERO interest in taking it off. That smile pretty much tells you everything!

We absolutely love dressing you for life’s biggest moments, but this one got us a little. Mom, Dad and now this adorable little gal will all be dressed by us. And we are so grateful!

October is going to be very special for this amazing family. And something tells us Joanie is going to give Mom and Dad a run for their money for best dressed!

Poplar Place progress! 🤩

The work must go on even while we were away at the National Bridal Market Chicago! Big thanks to Mike for getting the new ceiling tiles and lighting installed!

A few little tweaks and the sanctuary will be complete and ready for that Betty touch!

Next we make our updates to the foyer and create the bridal suite! I just can’t get over how gorgeous this is already!

We are so honored to continue loving this space! And we can’t wait to host your big day very soon!

Poplar Paint Progress. 🤍

Of all the colors we looked at, we landed on one called Patience and somehow that feels pretty fitting.

It’s warm, inviting and exactly what we wanted for Poplar. But we also love what the name says about this whole process. Good things take time, and we want to do this right.

Our goal has never been to change what makes this old church so beautiful. We just want to give it a fresh look, bring out the details that are already here and make it feel ready for all the new memories that will happen inside these walls.

And thankfully, we haven’t been doing it alone. We’ve had some pretty great people jump in and help us get moving quickly, and we are so grateful for every extra set of hands.

There’s still a lot to do, but it’s already starting to feel like Poplar Place.

A little paint. A lot of patience. And so much excitement for what’s ahead. 🤍
