The directors must have said "ACTION" because Dorothy and Toto (Maelie Rieken), Robin Hood (Ez Singleton), Sherlock Holmes (Maximus Applegate), and Tom Sawyer (Asher McDonald) all scramble for hiding places in the Enchanted Bookshop. Actual dress rehearsal is a few weeks away, but these kids really like costumes!

Can we say drama? Gwen Dietz, who plays Margie the owner of The Enchanted Bookshop, can be counted on to bring the drama when it's part of the script. Trinity Singleton was filling in the role of the cat Bombalurina. You can catch Gwen, Trinity, and lots of other great kids on stage on June 26, 27, and 28 at Grist Mill Theater in Macedonia. Remember Fagin, the pickpocket from "Oliver Twist"? Auburn McDonald plays the character in "The Enchanted Bookshop" as she swoops in to help the great Sherlock Holmes played by Maximus Applegate. A Grist Mill “First”
Grist Mill will present “The Enchanted Bookshop” on June 26, 27, and 28 at the Grist Mill Theater in Macedonia. The product of Deanna Fender’s imagination, this show is being directed by two high school students, Finley Meek, and Noah Feekes. Producer, Clara Martens, heads up a crew of students for props, costumes, etc.
This show, however, will still have all the excellence of any show done at 313 Main St. because all of these student leaders are closely mentored by longtime Grist Mill directors and producers.
You can reserve your seats for this show (which contains lots of laughs) by calling the theater on June 1 at 712-486-2216 and leaving a message. Tickets are $20 for adults and $5 for students. Show your support for these kids!

Bombalurina!
In case you missed the musical "Cats", Bombalurina was a principal character and she's also a character in "The Enchanted Bookshop" on the Grist Mill stage on June 26, 27, & 28. Eleanor Nilan (who will spend much time on her knees) plays the bookshop kitty. You don't want to miss this very expressive feline. Oh, look! She knows how to use binoculars!

Multi-talented! Like several of the "older" Grist Mill kids, Clara Martens is filling lots of jobs for the upcoming Grist Mill show "The Enchanted Bookshop" on June 26, 27, and 28.
Clara will appear in three roles onstage, each requiring different costumes and makeup, plus, offstage she's also the student producer, co-costumer, and creating some promotion.

Eddie [Trinity Singleton] rebukes Fingers [Lynora Singleton] with a classic gangster line "How many times do I gotta tell you, Fingers? You're supposed to shut up when you're talkin'!"
These two get to be the criminals in "The Enchanted Bookshop" at the Grist Mill Theater on June 26, 27, and 28 in a student directed and produced show.

The student directors for “The Enchanted Bookshop” at the Grist Mill Theater. Noah Feekes is also working with the lighting and sound guru, Heather Dyson. Finley Meek is directing and filling a role as a police officer. These two young men have been on the Grist Mill and other stages and are ready to lead others.

One of the scenes from Tuesday’s rehearsal for “The Enchanted Bookshop” at the Grist Mill Theater in Macedonia. This “scene” may never happen again quite like this but we know these kids are experts at getting laughs onstage. Because some folks were filling in for missing cast members we will just let them be unidentified!
This show is a first for Grist Mill. Students- Noah Feekes and Finley Meek are directing this student cast. There are adult mentors present!
