Lynchburg Christmas Parade Annual Holiday event that for more than 50 yrs. Was held in historic downtown Lynchburg Virginia right near the James River. Annual event for more than 50 yrs.

held in downtown Lynchburg Virginia. Event is generally held the first or second Sunday in December. Features pre and pros parade events, food vendors, over 75 entries and floats. Sponsors are collected in late summer. Floats can be registered online or by calling Lynchburg Retail Merchants Association, hosts of this event.

We are looking forward to seeing a large crowd this Sunday for the 65th Annual Lynchburg Christmas Parade! Please see the Parade route map below as well as the highlighted section for our Quiet Zone!

We are pleased to offer the quiet zone area again this year for those that may want to enjoy the parade but have babies, animals, or children and adults with disabilities where loud noise can affect their enjoyment of the festivities!

Applications for the 2024 Lynchburg Christmas Parade " Inside Santa's Workshop" are now available!!! We have already had many people contacting us about participating so we are excited for what this year has in store! We are looking forward to seeing some Festive and Creative Floats this year.

****PLEASE NOTE****

Every year we receive questions or see comments as to why the Lynchburg Christmas Parade is not being held in Downtown Lynchburg. Again, this year it is staying along the same route that it has the past six years in Midtown Lynchburg. Please know that we understand the nostalgia of having the parade downtown, but after meetings with the City and taking into account the Staging Area, still ongoing Construction downtown, which would HAVE to be used for staging, and Feedback from our parade participants the decision was made to continue along the current route for this year. It is our sincere hope to bring the Lynchburg Christmas parade back downtown when we are able!
We hope you will still come out and enjoy the opening of the Christmas Season in Lynchburg!!!

Good Afternoon Everyone!!! We are only 5 days away from the Lynchburg Christmas Parade!!

We wanted to let everyone know that we will again this year have our Quiet Zone area at the very beginning of the parade for those that have pets, babies, or adults/children who have a sensitivity to loud noises.

Please note that if you are viewing the parade from the location marked below from the Fort Avenue to the left turn onto Wythe, the bands will not be playing music, there will be no loud horns or sirens, or loud music played! IF you want to take part in the louder noises please station yourself on Wythe, Oakley, and Memorial to enjoy the parade!

We want to make the Lynchburg Parade a place where everyone can come and enjoy the festivities!!
