ACF has been named the Forest Landowners Association's 2026 Consulting Forester of the Year! 🎉 🏆

FLA’s awards program recognizes individuals and organizations that demonstrate leadership, impact, and a strong commitment to private forest stewardship. This year’s recognition of ACF reflects the collective contributions of all of our members, consulting foresters across the country who provide trusted, ethical, and professional guidance to landowners.

We’re honored to be recognized alongside past recipients, including many ACF members and firms, who have long set the standard for excellence in consulting forestry.

The award will be formally accepted on behalf of ACF by President Rick Barnes and Executive Director Shannon McCabe at FLA’s Annual Meeting this summer in New Orleans, though this honor belongs to the entire ACF community.

We’re excited to announce PFI’s second CooperTen National Scholarship recipient, Shrabya “Shrub” Timsina! Shrub earned his Master’s in Forestry from Yale University in 2020 and is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Ecology & Land Use Planning at UC Berkeley.

Starting June 1st, Shrub will gain hands-on experience through two exciting internships. He'll begin in California with Hamey Woods, then travel to New Hampshire with New England Forestry Consultants, Inc. Shrub, along with fellow scholarship recipient Skylar Deaton, also plans to attend the 2026 ACF National Conference in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

We're thrilled to announce Skylar Deaton, a Forest Management undergraduate at North Carolina State University, as a recipient of the Practicing Foresters Institute (PFI) CooperTen National Scholarship!

Starting June 1st, Skylar will gain hands-on experience through two exciting internships. She’ll begin in North Carolina with Tugwell Consulting Forestry, then travel to New Hampshire to work with New England Forestry Consultants, Inc. Skylar is also planning to attend the 2026 ACF National Conference in Baton Rouge, Louisiana (stay tuned for a registration announcement)!
