Check out this amazing new faire and give them some love!
2020 has been called the most challenging year. Businesses that have been around for generations have been forced to close for good in a struggling economy, Millions of people are on unemployment, kids in kindergarten are learning school electronically along side their siblings and cousins in elementary, middle school, high school and college. Social norms have been changed to limit how many people we can see at a time. Masks are worn for all ages to protect against Covid. The list goes on and on and is constantly changing. 2020 was no different for our beneficiary Rick “Ric Roc” Carver.
Ric Roc has been a performer in the Renaissance community for over 20 years. He has been a mentor, a friend, a leader and so much more. Whenever someone needs advice, a laugh, a smile or a ear to listen to Ric Roc is there. He is has been involved with Michigan Renaissance Festival (MRF) since the beginning of MRF. He is a inspiration to many people, a genuine individual who goes out of way for everyone to see them happy and one of the nicest people in you will ever meet.
2020 was not kind to Ric Roc though. On July 17,2020 the Renaissance Community received word Ric Roc was diagnosed with Throat Cancer. Immediately prayers and well wishes and thoughts of how to help him and his family were being sent. On September 9, 2020 Ric started treatment for both Radiation and Chemotherapy. for his Throat Cancer. The side effects from the treatment made it hard for him to eat and swallow food and liquids. As of October 30, 2020 Ric Roc's treatments are over and he is in the healing process.
He still has a long ways to go and a mountain of bills to pay. Spirited Seas Renaissance Faire is proud to have Ric Roc as our Beneficiary for our faire August 7&8 2021.
