Congrats to Molly Keane of Groton, a 2025 graduate of Groton-Dunstable Regional High School, for receiving this year's Jeanne Mitchell Memorial Scholarship. This accomplished student was awarded $1,500 toward her college education, thanks to the generosity of past participants in the Jeanne Mitchell annual golf tournament and other donors to the scholarship fund. Molly, an outstanding student who recently began her freshman year at Suffolk University, is pursuing a degree in History/ English.
In her scholarship application, she expressed her hope to make an impact on the world through education. “Being a history teacher is a dream job for me, as it allows me to help raise a generation of kids who are empathetic and able to think critically about current events and link them to events past,” she noted.
Molly amassed an impressive resume during her years at GDRHS, including honor roll, Editor in Chief of the Newspaper Club, Vice President of the Philosophy Club, President of the Breakfast Club, Treasurer of the Debate Club, President of the Gender-Sexuality Alliance and Director of Marketing for the Drama Guild as well as other leadership roles.
Jeanne Mitchell Memorial Scholarships are awarded annually to deserving graduating seniors at GDRHS who are pursuing a four-year college degree. Since we no longer host the golf tournament or any other fundraisers, we rely solely on individual contributions to fund the scholarships that honor the memory of a much-loved member of our community who has been gone for seven years but not forgotten. There have been nine scholarships awarded, totaling $18,000, since 2020.
