Very sad to learn of Al's passing. He contributed so much to Lovell. He always had a smile and willing to help. Over the years, I worked with Al on local non-profits and various projects. When there was a task to be done, Al was on top of it. As a board member of the Brick Church for the Performing Arts, Al was instrumental in making us a more efficient and successful organization.

I, and many others, will miss him!

The Brick Church for the Performing Arts proudly presents the Bradley Jazz Collective on Thursday, August 28, 2025, 7:00 pm. Founded in 2015 to perform the inaugural concert for Bradley Backstage concert series at the Leura-Hill Eastman Performing Arts Center, the Bradley Jazz Collective prioritizes musical interaction and spontaneity in its fresh interpretations of the jazz repertoire. The group includes Tom Robinson, piano, Mike Sakash, saxophone, Al Hospers bass, and Craig Bryan Jr.,drums; musicians that have been playing together for more than a decade in a variety of musical contexts. For the past several years the BJC closed its summer season of concerts with a performance at the Lovell Brick Church for the Performing Arts, an ideal venue for intimate, acoustic music. This year the group will present a program of the music of Richard Rogers, one of the most influential composers of the Great American SongBook. Included in the program are a variety of Richard Rogers songs that have been incorporated into the jazz repertoire such as: I Could Write a Book, My Favorite Things, Surrey With a Fringe on Top, It Never Entered My Mind, It Might As Well Be Spring, It’s Easy To Remember, and Have You Met Miss Jones. Mike Sakash, a jazz history enthusiast, will share some of the interesting jazz anecdotes and background information that accompanies each of these songs.

Free Range tonight (8/14) at the Brick Church, 7:00 pm. This will be a great evening of familiar acoustic folk/rock music. Tickets are $15 (cash or check only) and can be purchased at the door. Doors open at 6:30. Hope to see you there!

Free Range
An evening of acoustic folk/rock.
Free Range was founded in the fall of 2023 by five local musicians from the Bridgton and surrounding areas:

Peter Kimball, on rhythm acoustic guitar and lead vocals, was born and raised on the coast of Maine, and has played and sang since he was 12 years old…he now resides in Naples, ME.

Jeanine Loubier, on harmony vocals, fiddle, mandolin, banjo, and guitar, is a multitalented instrumentalist…she hails from the great state of Oklahoma and now resides in Waterford, ME.

Greg Huang-Dale plays banjo, mandolin, and hammered dulcimer, and also has a wonderful baritone voice…he’s originally from Iowa and now resides in Fryeburg, ME.

Rusty Wiltjer is our percussionist…he excels at drumming, especially the Djembe, an African style drum…his home state is Ohio and now lives in Waterford, ME. He is also an accomplished potter!

and, last, but NOT least, Jerry Adams keeps the rest of the band in a tight rhythmic groove with his superb bass playing. Originally from Chelmsford, MA, he now resides in South Paris, ME.

We all have diverse musical backgrounds…as Free Range, we especially enjoy playing cover songs and tunes we all grew up on…plus a few surprises thrown in! We hope you enjoy our music!
"Free Range, Five good eggs…just a little cracked!”
