As the only competitive bhangra team in the state of Kentucky, Cardinal Bhangra started in 2007 at the University of Louisville. As a group of students from diverse backgrounds, we came together to celebrate our passion for Bhangra and have become one of the most celebrated Indian dance teams in Kentucky. While adding a touch of Louisville, Cardinal Bhangra strives to spread rich Punjabi culture in their community.

Introducing Guru Vandana Arts Academy!!

Guru Vandana Arts Academy brings disciplined and focused training in Bharatanatyam to the Louisville community. Students have performed in venues all over the United States and India, including at the St. Louis Indian Dance Festival (MO), the Detroit Bharathiya Temple (MI), the Louisville Yum Center, the Nirantaram festival of Bangalore, and others. GVAA, headed by Guru Smt. Akila Iyer, is also known for its creative dance drama productions that reimagine Hindu mythologies and Indian history. For Jalsa this year, GVAA will be presenting an exciting classical meets contemporary piece, celebrating the triumph of good over evil!
