đšGOATMAN FEST IMPROVEMENTSđš
After an overwhelming attendance at last yearâs Goatman Festival, we sat down this year to take a hard look at everything that we do at Legend at Pope Lick.
While we love everything we do, we had to make some tough choices. There is a big difference in hosting events on a smaller scale versus the scale Goatman Fest has grown to become. The reality is that Goatman Fest truly became the largest event weâve ever produced at Pope Lick with no sign of slowing down.
So we took our experience and guest feedback and we determined FIVE primary improvements to make this experience even better for 2026.
âïž5 IMPROVEMENTS WEâRE MAKING
1) THE INDOOR SPACE đ
One of the biggest challenges when an event becomes the size of Goatman Festival is the sheer number of people. And while we love the indoor gift shop, escape room and experience counter, the number of people in the space last year made it impossible for any of those things to be experienced by our guests.
So weâve made the decision to move the gift shop space outdoors with the other vendors. This will make it easier for guests to see all of the things we have to offer: t-shirts, hoodies, bobble heads, plushies, books, stickers, etc.
We are moving experience ticketing to a new, expanded ticketing counter outside of the building. We will also have more guest services to assist you to make getting to an experience easier.
Finally, we are removing our beloved escape rooms from the indoor space. These will forever be treasured, but when our guests canât experience them it makes them tough to keep. Unfortunately, we need the space to make the experience better at the event. That does NOT mean our team is done creating escapesâŠmore to come on that later.đ€«
2) REDUCE OVERLAP đ§
Last year, we moved the seminars under the pavilion in an effort to make more room for our guests. Bands were on the east side of the building, along with the movie screen. The 3 being so close in proximity created overlap that significantly impacted the guest experience.
This year, seminars will be moved to the newly restructured indoor space with more room for guests, a screen for professional presentations and because it is inside it will be far easier to hear what the speakers have to say since it will be shielded from outside noise.
Bands will move back under the pavilion, as they were in previous years. This gives them more room to spread their legs without the concern of the sound impacting the other experiences as drastically as it did last year.
The movie screen will remain on the side of the building as it was last year to provide a separation of the experience from the live music. We want to make sure we capture the free movie night experience youâve come to expect from us at Pope Lick, especially since we are not offering the summer lineup for 2026.
3) MORE VARIETY đȘ
Even with over 40 vendors, there was a limitation to the variety offered at last yearâs event. For 2026, we are doubling the number of vendors to provide a wider variety of art, crafts, and more.
We will even have more food trucks and refreshment vendors! If you visit the festival more than one day, youâll have different options to enjoy during your visit.
Lastly, we are also expanding our concessions window to offer you more assistance and reduce the friction of having to wait.
4) MORE ACTIVITIES đ
With more people, you need more activities to diversify the entertainment and make it fun for all interests. We will of course have our Haunted Trail and Trackless train rides returning, both are crowd favorites.
This year, we are adding a full Carnival Sideshow with over 2 hours of entertainment that you can experience. To make it even cooler, the Sideshow will take place in the woods, surrounded by the darkness of the forest.
We also have Dr. Jekyllâs Institute of Monster Studies bringing a Monster Museum for you to learn about and SEE Cryptids from across the country.
ANNNNDD if youâve ever been to our Baby Goat Day, weâve rolled that experience into this yearâs Goatman Festival. Youâll be able to see, pet and feed Baby Goats and some other unusual goats that youâve not likely ever seen before.
On top of that, weâll have more tours (both cryptid and paranormal), more experiences with experts, contests, MORE LIVE MUSIC, and so much more!
5) MORE PARKING đ
When you have that many guests to an event, even a large parking lot becomes small. While there are 3 lots in Pope Lick and parking along the street in the grass, this isnât enough as it has continued to grow.
This year, weâve arranged space just down the street that will offer even more parking. Donât worry, you wonât have to walk because we are also going to provide a shuttle so that you can conveniently get to and from the lot. This should greatly increase the amount of parking, particularly on Saturday when it becomes a challenge.
We of course also extended this event to 4-days so that we can spread our guests across 4 days instead of 2 to offer a relaxed experience, which most have come to expect with a visit to Pope Lick.
We are very excited for this yearâs event and to share all that weâve been working on to make the experience even better.
