Before the baby arrives.
Before they grew up.

History is not only remembered at Oxmoor. It is still being uncovered.

This summer, the public is invited to participate in Oxmoor Farm’s ongoing archaeology wash, where small groups will help clean and examine artifacts uncovered from the former enslaved dwellings on the property. Recommended for ages 8 and up, these hands-on sessions offer a rare opportunity to engage directly with the process of discovering history.

Archaeology allows us to better understand the daily lives of the people who lived and labored at Oxmoor through the objects they left behind, fragments of pottery, buttons, tools, glass, cookware, and personal belongings that reveal stories often absent from written records. At Oxmoor, these artifacts are helping uncover a fuller understanding of the lives of the men, women, and children who once lived here.

Join us in uncovering history where it happened. Limited spaces available through June. Registration details available at link in bio.

Five years ago, a quiet realization changed Oxmoor forever.

Standing inside the grand library, Susan Reigler and historian-curator Shirley Harmon looked around the room and understood something immediately: This space was made for music.

The Steinway in the corner.
The intimacy of the library.
The architecture.
The acoustics.
The atmosphere.

Composed music was never meant only for concert halls. It was written for rooms like this.
What began as an idea became an annual tradition of music, gathering, and cultural life within one of Kentucky’s most remarkable historic spaces.

This summer, Oxmoor celebrates five years of concerts made possible by an extraordinary community of musicians, audiences, and local sponsors who continue to help keep these historic rooms alive.

The schedule of performances are as follows:
Thursday, June 4 – 7:30pm
Saturday, June 6 – 11:00am – FREE FAMILY CONCERT
Saturday, June 6 – 7:30pm
Sunday, June 7 – 4:00pm
