Nebula Comic Con

Nebula Comic Con Nebula Comic Con is a Science Fiction/Fantasy/Gaming con in Louisville, Kentucky

09/17/2022

It has been around 3 years since we started this project. Originally going to be in 2020 Covid shut it down. Over the past couple of years we have had to push the show due to covid a number of times and since we started a lot has happened in the world and also personally.

Unfortunately, I am announcing the cancelation of the show. Over the past couple of years, my health has started to decline and the past few months have seen another decrease. Between that and the economy, I have to take time to take care of myself and heal. Is the show completely dead? NO. I am just unsure when I will be able to return and put it on.

We are pleased to announce J Hammond as a Spotlight Artist!

About J Hammond:

J Hammond is a self-taught artist born and raised in rural Kentucky. Honing his talents by sketching in the margins of Mad Magazine, he was further inspired by the stylized art of animation like Ren & Stimpy, and quickly realized he could express his own unique sense of humor in drawing cartoons.

Now, over ten years into his journey as a professional artist, J’s style has continued to evolve and reflect his varied interests in comics, film and television, literature, and pop culture. He has had to opportunity to work for various comic publishers in trading cards and exclusive covers, including Marvel, DC, and Image, as well as had work licensed and published for films like Halloween, Ghostbusters, and Us. As a father and a kid at heart, J also has a special affection for fostering creativity in children, running a program at any events he attends called ‘Trading Capes’ where he trades art with kids 12 and under for free. Further exploring this passion, he has also published three children’s books and been the featured illustrator of a fourth.

Outside of art, J enjoys spending time with his family, reading, and watching interesting film and television. He lives in Georgetown, Kentucky with his wife (Kayla), three boys(Brayden, Colton, Jensen), and two dogs (Koda, Indiana Bones).
