Performer Guidelines
Los Banos Open Mic Nite is a new venture that provides a venue for local performers a place to perform. As we move through these initial performances we will continue to look at what works and what doesn’t. We want this to be a great experience for performers and the audience as well and we are listening to your feedback as we go along. With that in mind, here are a few guidel
ines to set the stage (pun intended!) for great shows. Each venue will be a little different- and that can be exciting and offer different experiences for everyone involved.
1. Open Mic Nite is for singers, musicians, poets, drama and comedy only
2. All performers must be at least 12 years or older
3. These are family-friendly shows so bad language or vulgarity is never allowed.
4. If performing a song, it must be your voice only- no singing along with a pre-recorded artist (i.e. you cannot sing along with Adele).
5. Performers should check in at 6 pm. Make sure your instruments are tuned ahead of time requiring minimal “re-tuning” when you get on stage. If you are using an amp, have it in place where all you have to do is plug your guitar in to avoid lag time between performers.
6. Each performer can do one song or act (approximately 4 minutes) but you are encouraged to come prepared to do more if time permits after the first rotation.
7. If you are performing a karaoke song, either come with it on your phone or ipad or make sure John from JC Starstruck has it available on his song list. Check in with him as soon as you arrive.
8. Performers get in free. All others pay the cover charge to help defray costs.
9. All entries and content will be reviewed and accepted at the discretion of the Los Banos Open Mic committee. All decisions are final. We reserve the right to remove an act from the mic if it does not match the content we approved during the sign up period.
