⚠️💔 THIS LOSS HAS SHAKEN ALL OF HAWAII... AND NO ONE KNOWS WHY 😢🦭
A heartbreaking mystery is unfolding in Hawaiʻi.
Kaʻale (RH32), one of the state's most recognized Hawaiian monk seals, has been found dead after years of surviving threats that would have killed many others.
Known by locals and adored by wildlife volunteers, Kaʻale became a symbol of Hawaiʻi's fight to protect endangered marine life. Throughout his life, he survived multiple human-related incidents, including hookings and entanglements that required emergency intervention.
On May 6, responders recovered his body near Nānākuli. Scientists are now working to determine exactly what happened.
Until official findings are released, experts are urging the public to avoid speculation and allow the facts to emerge.
For now, one thing is certain:
A beloved member of Hawaiʻi's coastline is gone. 💔
