What a profound honor it was to dance with the incredible Gitta Ryle, 93 years young, a Holocaust survivor, and a radiant spirit full of life. We are so grateful to have shared this joyful moment with her. Without hesitation, she stepped onto the dance floor and showed us how it’s done, moving with grace and vitality.
As Papiba played The Girl from Ipanema, serenading her with each note, Gitta swayed beside us, reminding us what it truly means to live.
Moments like this stop you in your tracks. This is the why: dancing for joy, for love, for resilience, for triumph, and for the beautiful essence of the human spirit.
In these unprecedented times, when immigrants are being mistreated and human rights are under threat, it’s more important than ever to remember history, to honor those who’ve survived it, and to stand up and speak out for one another. Thank you for the dance, thank you for the Samba!
