Burning Man 2022: The first year back on the playa after the covid break.

Image 1 is mine.
Images 2&3 are from BlackSky Satellites from space.
The year set a record temperature of 103* F/39.5*C and wind speeds up to 50 mph. Exodus was 8-12 hours.
This was the year I almost “quit” Burning Man. I returned in 2023 for a do-over lol

I’ve received quite a few questions about Burning Man, especially health-related questions and questions about what people should bring for certain health issues.

Another common question I get is:
How are patients transported off the playa if they’re having a medical emergency? Please check the Burning Man survival guide for more information.

I also want to address the personal medical questions people DM me. I truly care about people and I understand not everyone has medical insurance or access to a primary care physician. I genuinely empathize with that. But I cannot answer individualized questions about someone’s personal health or give specific medical advice. Those concerns really need to be addressed by a licensed medical doctor who can properly evaluate your situation and medical history. 💗

For my surgery crew😷💗 “Parkour isn’t just a hobby. It’s a lifestyle.”
Meanwhile I’m in the operating room side stepping cords, scooping up dropped instruments, dodging sterile fields, and power walking to core for supplies like an elite athlete.
**All scheduled surgeries completed. No delays documented. No patient care required at the time of filming.🙂**

The world premiere of the HBO Original docuseries, The Man Will Burn, is happening at the 2026 Tribeca Festival on Tuesday, June 9, at 5:30 PM.

This screening marks the first public look at the definitive story of Burning Man, covering 30 years of history and the recent mud crisis. Following the premiere of the first two episodes, there will be a live conversation with directors Jehane Noujaimand Vikram Gandhi.

World Premiere of The Man Will Burn(Episodes 1 & 2)
Date & Time: Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at 5:30 PM
Tribeca Festival (Official venue details are typically released with the full schedule)

The full four-part series will air on HBO and stream on Max later in June/July.
