Friends, you probably are not aware of this but for the past 2 months I have been working on an amazing photo documentary henna portrait project with the fabulous photographer Judith Ann Warren. This has been a labor of love and we have both volunteered many hours-- me doing extensive henna designs on the subjects and her photographing them in her studio. We have made an effort to reach out to people of many ethnicities and backgrounds, most of whom had never experienced the beauty of henna body art before. Each session took many hours and also involved sharing personal stories, the emotions of the themes of the shoots and much more. Our goal is to extend this project out into the community and do henna portraits of people in all walks of life. We have both donated our time and materials and artistry, but now are in need of some support for the actual photo prints. The prints will be in an exhibit on Nov. 12 as well as eventually in a book portfolio which we will use to apply for grants, future exhibit opportunities and more. Judith Ann is a very talented photographer and has stretched her talents to the extreme for some amazing work. I'd like to think my close to 15 years experience in henna has also helped We'd both appreciate any contributions you can spare to keep this project on track! Many thanks in advance!
