The July Chess Social is
THIS SATURDAY EVENING

We are very excited to be doing our next event at a new venue! Chak De is a beautiful Indian lounge and bar, in the heart of Old Town Pasadena, which is absolutely perfect for night of chess and live music!

Since it is really big, we are going to add some other activities and fun details!
There will be a Characature Artist, drawing members for free, a smash bros pop-up (with both melee and ultimate setups), some art, and all decorated by our favorite projectionist!

And off course, there will be oodles of casual and competitive chess, and four live performances!!
(We already have 46 people registered on other platforms, but expect twice that in attendance)
No need to sign up, just drop in whenever!

The November Chess Social is back, and we’re thrilled to gather once again with our favorite crew of chess enthusiasts. Whether you’re here to test new strategies, catch up with familiar faces, or just escape the holiday hustle, this is your night to shine.

As always, the cozy ambiance of the Griffin of Kinsale will set the stage, complete with incredible live music to keep the vibe just right. So bring your moves, your wit, and your love of the game—it wouldn’t be the same without you!

Feel free to bring some non-perishable cans of food, as we are doing a collection for those in need.

8TH ANNIVERSARY: SEPTEMBER 28TH
BOLD NEW VENUE
We hope you know that the LACS team had something special planned for our organization's eighth birthday!! Shout out to the BOOMTOWN BREWERY IN DTLA for hosting us!! This massive venue has two enormous rooms, a professional stage, and a really cool patio area---all of which will be smothered with casual and competitive chess!! This space is one of a kind and will perfectly match our festive vibe. This plan has been in the works since March! There will be chess challenges, amazing live bands, a raffle with very cool prizes (including THREE VIP MAGIC CASTLE TICKETS), several food truck vendors, and some excellent beverages (brewed less than 20 feet away:)
Cannot understate how excited we are to have these particular legendary live music acts!!!
