“Mere Dolna Sun” is a Rajasthani/Marwari folk song…
“Listen, my beloved.”
The singer calls out tenderly to her lover, asking him to hear his heart.

She speaks of longing and devotion,
of waiting through the heat, dust, and silence of the desert.

She reminds him of promises made,
of nights under the moon,
of love that does not fade with distance.

Her voice carries playfulness and ache together—
teasing him, yet yearning for his return.

The song honors deep attachment, fidelity, and emotional intimacy,
a love that survives separation and time.

Traditionally, even when the singer is a man, the voice of “Mere Dolna Sun” is feminine.
This is very common in Rajasthani and Manganiyar folk music.
