Partly thanks to a collaboration with the Empowerment Fund of the Pride Amsterdam foundation, we can produce our 2nd annual WorldPride Voices of Solidarity event. The fund offers financial support to projects that contribute to the emancipation and inclusivity of the community.

The Empowerment Fund was set up to ensure that everyone within the LGBTQIA+ community has a voice and can contribute to Pride Amsterdam. It specifically focuses on initiatives that otherwise would not be able to take place. This further emphasizes and stimulates diversity within Pride.

A Step Toward Liberation — IDAHOBIT 2026 in Los Angeles

On May 17, we gather at Founders MCC to unveil the Steps to Liberation — a permanent rainbow arts installation and a public act of courage by the co-creator of the original rainbow flag, Lynn Segerblom "Mother of the Rainbow Flag."

From the early Pride marches of the 1960s to today, the steps continue.

This is not just an unveiling.
It’s a reminder that visibility still matters.
That dignity is not negotiable.
That freedom is something we practice — together.

Home raided and evicted again today in Uganda.

Grace Stone, one of our Voices of Solidarity runs a shelter for homeless LGBTQ youth and was again raided and evicted from the property. He's part of our official WorldPride 2025 Partner Event, OUR PRIDE Shorts & Arts Fest. http://ourpride.org

With USAID funding cuts and fear rising recently in Uganda, Grace is responding with love and resistance. He's been planning to stage the play "Every Brilliant Thing" by Duncan Macmillan in order to spark hope and conversations about mental health -- while running this rural LGBT shelter offering food, beddings, and safety.

Across Uganda, LGBTQ+ individuals face growing insecurity--ranging from arrests, violent attacks, forced evictions, and media outings. This has worsened under the Anti-Homosexuality Act, which legalizes discrimination and fuels public hostility. Many q***r people are now homeless, hiding, or struggling with trauma and mental health crises.

GERMANY / Translucent tells the perspective of gender-diverse athletes inspired by the real life example of tennis player Renée Richards. Produced within 48 hours, this film looks back on Renées vibrant career in competitive sport and her search for belonging through the eyes of her older self. It raises the most pressing question in the sports world right now onto the tennis court: Where do trans athletes belong in the sports principles of fairness?
