If you’re drawn to Arabic, North African, and Middle Eastern rhythm, I wanted to share a few resources to support your learning and practice.
This is for belly dancers, musicians, and anyone curious about rhythm, movement, and musical conversation.
Practice & Learning Resources
• Live Drum Classes (online): Doumbek, Riqq, Zill, Tar / Duff
https://donavonlerman.com/music/
• Strudel Rhythm Player: a great tool for looping rhythms, slowing things down, creating your own rhythms, and really listening inside the groove
https://iqaat.com/music/strudel/strudel.html
• Playlist of Arabic & North African rhythms: to practice with. Send me a note and I can add a rhythm that you request:

*I Love seeing these rhythm stitched with your own movement, playing, or art.*
Classes happen **Tuesday evenings (Pacific Time) online via zoom** and are open to beginners, dancers wanting deeper rhythmic fluency, and musicians refining technique and feel. Private and group classes available by request.
If you’ve been meaning to practice more consistently, understand rhythms more clearly, or simply play with others in a supportive space, this is a good doorway.
👉 Explore the resources, join a class, or message me if you have questions. 🥁
