“Everything We Thought We Wanted,” the new album from Los Angeles Country-Americana artists The Far West, is now available and features the singles “Joshua Tree,” “Hope I Don’t Bleed” featuring the legendary Dave Alvin, and “See For Yourself.”

The Far West’s “Everything We Thought We Wanted” is the No. 1 most-added album and the No. 3 most-added album, respectively, at Americana Radio in its first two weeks, according to Americana Radio airplay charts. The band was also honored with the distinction of being selected as an official Americanafest showcasing artist for 2025.

"This year’s Americana West, held June 21-22, presented more than 40 acts on two indoor stages at Los Angeles’ Hotel Café. Located on an alley off Hollywood’s Cahuenga Boulevard, the café opened in 2000 as a coffee shop with a space for aspiring singer-songwriters to present their work. While a wide variety of well-known performers, from Lucinda Williams to Katy Perry, have appeared there, the café remains primarily a venue for the yet-to-be discovered — as well as a place film and TV music scouts come to find songs for their projects. You could call it the Bluebird Cafe of the west, without the tourists."

Q. What is currently inspiring the band in terms of music? A. Ronnie Lane records are never far from our turntable. We’ve also been listening to Cowboy, Gabby Pahinui, Help Yourself, Sandy Denny and Jimmy Reed.

Q. What’s a dream venue/festival you’d love to play at and what about it intrigues you? A. No venues or festivals come to mind but we would love to play some shows in Mexico City and maybe travel down to the peninsula and sing a couple songs in a cenote.
