We've been getting hammered with questions about activities this year, the U pick situation and fall events. Here's the update!
Lots of work happening to get ready for this picking season. A new pavilion, servicing all our irrigation/sprinkler systems, soil prep, getting some new roads laid and a second larger fishing pond for catfish and big bass is on the idea board!
The blueberry orchards are THRIVING! We did a massive, aggressive prune to drive energy into the fruit bearing branches and it has paid off. We are seeing tens of thousands of fruit bulbs! This also cleaned up the rows alot and made them wider. If you remember last year it was getting pretty tight between the rows, so this season you'll have less branches to move out the way!
Our blueberries are all natural. No fertilizer, no chemicals, no bug sprays or anything. These bushes are 40, maybe 50 years old doing their own thing the way God intended them to do. We are letting that continue.
Sweet corn and sunflowers are planted! Our sweet corn always seems to be extra delicious, and this is our first attempt at some sun flowers.
We have added picnic tables down the side of the fishing pond, during U-Pick fishing will be FREE this year. Please catch and release only, we want to keep it stocked.
As in past years, Photographers!!! If you are looking for a venue to do photos, we allow that at Bonnie Bay at no charge. We know your industry is hard enough as is, all we ask is you encourage your friends, family and clients to come to the U-Picks!
"Hunter's Playground" will be open this year during the U-Pick days. Its an all natural style playground, my son loves it so I know your kids will too.
If interested in using the farm for special events, gatherings or revival/outdoor church services, shoot us a message.
Dates for the U-Pick will be released when we get closer, summer is always hot so we encourage people to bring a nice shade hat, bug spray and bear spray for the bears (kidding)
If you are a vendor/farm stand/produce stand who is looking for a LOCAL blueberry supplier, we have two options available for yall. If interested message us!
During U-Pick season we invite everyone out, you dont have to buy a thing. If you just want to be in the sun and hear some birds chirp, we welcome you to come do that. Bring a book, find a tree and read under it. Walk your dogs down the trails (please clean up and they must stay leashed, we have a farm dog who is friendly on site. You are responsible for your dog and its actions). Want somewhere to ride a mountain bike around? Want to do a family picnic, or take family photos? Come on! Our goal for the farm is not profit, its a farm full of people enjoying nature and the very thing developments are quickly stealing away from our area. Come touch grass and relax
This year our recommended photographer is Maddox Mcdonald with MadDog Media! Maddox has worked this farm right next to us some seasons so he knows the good spots and has started his own business taking photos! Give him a call if you want something professional!
If you get hungry after a long day of picking, head to the beach and eat at Buoys On The Boulevard for dinner! (29 minutes to our parking lot there from the farm) Everyone gets a coupon for %15 off at Buoys when you buy blueberries!
