🧵 We’ve been working on something NEW at Wisteria…

Have you wanted to learn to sew, but thought…

I don’t even own a machine.
What if I buy one and don’t use it?
Where do I even start?

Start with us.

This Friday is our Beginning Sewing Class — and we provide the machines!

You’ll learn the things you actually need to know: how to thread your machine, wind a bobbin, change a needle, understand the basic controls and become comfortable sewing on your own.

But here’s where we’re changing things up… 👀

✨ COMING TO WISTERIA: BOOK STUDIO TIME ✨

Once you’ve learned to independently operate our studio machines, you don’t have to own one to keep sewing.

Come back. Bring your project. Book one of our Janome Skyline S3s by the hour and SEW.

And for those who want to take it even further… yes, we’re working on qualified studio time on our Continental M17, too. 😳🧵

Learn here. Sew here. Create here.

No machine at home required.

🧵 YOU KNOW HOW TO SEW. BUT DO YOU KNOW YOUR MACHINE?

Most of us learned sewing the same way.

Thread it. Turn it on. Start sewing.

And when something doesn’t work? We change the thread. Rethread it. Turn it off and back on. 😂 Maybe watch a YouTube video.

Eventually it works, so we keep going.

But somewhere along the way, a lot of us skipped something:

Actually learning the machine.

That’s what Beginning Sewing at Wisteria is about.

Not a project. Not how pretty you can sew. And definitely not sitting around reading an instruction manual.

We’re getting on the machines together and learning the things that make sewing easier, less frustrating and a whole lot more fun.

And don’t let the name Beginning Sewing fool you.

We’ve had experienced sewers take this class and discover things they never knew.

Never sewn before? Perfect.
Already sew? You might be surprised.

And you don’t even need a machine — we provide them.

3 hours. $50. A skill you’ll use long after the class is over.

🧵 WISTERIA — WHERE “I’M NOT SURE I CAN” BECOMES “LOOK WHAT I DID.”

Yesterday at The Wisteria was about so much more than ruler quilting.

These women have been working on their Log Cabin quilts, taught by the wonderful Iris Cunningham. Along the way, there were moments when they weren’t quite sure their quilts were going to turn into something they loved.

But look at them now. ❤️

They love their quilts so much that when it came time to start ruler quilting, they were hesitant. They wanted to make sure they had the skill before putting that ruler anywhere near something they had worked so hard to create!

And THAT is exactly why we learn.

Ruler quilting isn’t necessarily hard—but when you’re used to doing things another way, trying something new can feel pretty uncomfortable. Yesterday they stepped outside their comfort zones, practiced, learned a new skill, and kept going.

I could not be more proud of these women. They inspire me with their willingness to learn, try, mess up, practice, and try again.

And a huge THANK YOU to Iris for teaching this Log Cabin journey and reminding us that sometimes the thing we’re not sure about in the beginning becomes the thing we’re most proud of in the end.

Just look at those quilts. 😍

This is what The Wisteria is about—learning together, encouraging one another, and discovering that we’re capable of a whole lot more than we thought.

Beautiful work, ladies. I am SO proud of you. 💜

🧵✨ Summer may be winding down, but at The Wisteria, we’re just getting started.

Starting in September, we have so much planned for the upcoming season! New classes, fresh inspiration, exciting projects, and plenty of opportunities to gather, learn, and create together.

Today we’re taking a little inspiration trip to help us prepare for what’s ahead, and we can’t wait to share what we discover along the way.

The best is yet to come… and we can’t wait to create it with you. Stay tuned! 💜

🧵✨ Progress looks beautiful.

Today these ladies put the finishing touches on their Poppins Bags, and tomorrow they’ll complete their projects! Watching each bag come together stitch by stitch has been so much fun, and we’re incredibly proud of every one of them.

At The Wisteria, it’s never just about learning to sew—it’s about encouraging one another, building confidence, and celebrating every finished project together.

We can’t wait to see these beautiful bags completely finished tomorrow. Great job, ladies! You’ve done an amazing job, and we are so proud of you. 💚

💬 Question for our sewing friends: What’s one project you’ve finished that you’re still proud of today? We’d love to hear about it! 🪡✨

💚🧵 Some quilts are beautiful because of the fabric… and some are beautiful because of the journey behind them.

Back in January, Iris Cunningham taught our 9-Patch with a Twist class. Like many quilting projects, life happened along the way. Some quilts were finished quickly, while others took a little more time.

Today we’re celebrating Tamara, who stayed with it and crossed the finish line.

We’re so incredibly proud of her perseverance and the heart she poured into every stitch. This quilt is absolutely beautiful—but the story behind it makes it even more special. Every quilt tells a story, and this one is a reminder that it’s never too late to finish what you started.

Congratulations, Tamara! Thank you for sharing your journey with us and for reminding all of us that the best things are often worth the wait. 💛

We can’t wait to see what you’ll create next.
